Habitat: Sandbars along blackwater river. In full sun. Sandy to silty muddy soil, moisture varies from dry to wet.
Locality: De Soto National Forest. Black Creek btwn Brooklyn and Moody's Landing.
Comments: Uncommon but on most bars, with Salix nigra, Panicum virgatum, P. rigidulum, Polygonum hydropiperoides, Rhynchospora nitens (rare), Kyllinga pumila, Cyperus sp., Eleocharis obtusa, Fimbristylis autumnalis, Bulbostylis stenophylla, Lindernia anagallidea.
